St. Martin offers a diverse culture since the island is divided into the Dutch-side and French-side. The French side has a more genteel ambience, more fashionable shopping, and a Continental flair. The Dutch side tends to be less expensive, has casino hotels, and more nightlife. There are lots of water sports available to you - diving, snorkeling, sailing, and windsurfing are all popular choices. And it's easy to spend the day relaxing on one of the 37 beaches, strolling the boardwalk of Dutch-side Philipsburg, and exploring the very French town of Marigot.
Our 2 families - 4 adults, 4 teenage children, have taken many vacations together but the New Years we spent at amber Villa was by far the best and most memorable. The setting and view is breathtaking, the villa is both luxurious and comfortable and the service was simply outstanding. The pool is phenominal and kept very clean. The rental company was extremely responsive and professional. The town was a short drive away as were numerous beaches. We could not have been more pleased and highly recommend amber.
